ΒΉβ΅.ΒΉβ°.Β²β΅ Despite my request for a clear breakdown of the total fuel allocation and usage for road maintenance worth Ksh.2.5 Million from 2022β2025, the reply has failed to address the key issues raised earlier.
I am deeply disappointed by the revelation that the Department of Public Works spent Ksh 566,000 to grade only approximately 15 kilometres of road; translating to about Ksh. 37,700 per kilometre.
Even more concerning, some part of funds budgeted for road grading in Wundanyi-Mbale Ward were instead used to offset the departmentβs outstanding bills, leaving our people with no visible progress on the ground.
I have therefore demanded that the Department of Public Works be summoned before the County Assembly to explain how these funds were used and to tell the people of Wundanyi-Mbale Ward whether they are truly capable of working on our roads or not.
